FIRN runs a PhD symposium at the annual conference providing a valuable opportunity for PhD students at FIRN institutions to present their research and receive high quality feedback.
The 6th FIRN PhD Symposium will be held during the 2023 FIRN Annual Conference. The Annual Conference will be held on the 21st-24th of November 2023 at the University of Tasmania Hobart Campus.
Submissions are now open and close 1 May.

The 5th FIRN PhD Symposium will be held during the 22nd FIRN Annual Conference. The Annual Conference was held on the 22nd-25th of November 2022 in Hamilton Island, Queensland.
The 4th FIRN PhD Symposium was held on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 November 2021
The 4th FIRN PhD symposium was held online on 22-23 November 2021. Seventeen PhD students presented a wide range of papers over the two days, and we observed a high level of presentations from all students involved. The students benefited from high quality feedback from our discussants who generously gave their time to make the event a valuable experience.
We are pleased to announce the following awards from the symposium:
